More than 500 MW of renewable electricity will support Oracle’s growing data center and AI infrastructure in Texas
Houston, Texas, 18 September 2026 –The rapid growth of artificial intelligence and cloud computing is creating a major need for electricity. As technology companies expand their data center operations, renewable energy is becoming an important part of their energy strategies. ENGIE North America is now set to supply more than 500 megawatts of renewable electricity to support Oracle’s operations in Texas.
ENGIE announced an agreement to supply up to 568 megawatts of renewable power to Oracle. The electricity will come from wind energy resources connected to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, known as ERCOT. The agreement will support Oracle’s growing operations while adding renewable power to the Texas electricity market.
Oracle is expanding its data center infrastructure to meet rising demand for cloud computing and AI services. The company said it has developed around 12 gigawatts of renewable generation and battery storage capacity in the region over the past six years. Its portfolio includes wind and solar generation, battery storage, flexible power generation, and other energy infrastructure.
