Validating the Impact of a Landmark Play for Sustainable Sourcing

WishGarden Herbs, a bestselling liquid herbal formulas supplement brand, has officially confirmed the news of clocking two major milestones that build upon the company’s perennial commitment to sustainability.

According to certain reports, the stated milestones include earning B Corp™ Certification, as well as partnering with the first North American FairWild certified collector who wild cultivates in an agro-forestry model, thus taking a big step towards domestic sustainable sourcing.

Talk about what the B Corp™ Certification actually represents on a granular level, it showcases the prevalence of sustainable sourcing practices, as 98% of WishGarden’s botanicals are Organically Cultivated (52%), Regenerative Organic Certified (25%), Sustainably Wild-Crafted (14%), or Forest Farmed (5%).

Next up, it confirms small-scale producer partnerships, with 37% of the company’s produce sourced directly from small-scale producers boasting shared values.

Another detail worth a mention is rooted in the mandate of domestic sourcing commitment. In this regard, 63% of ingredients for WishGarden’s products are sourced domestically from the company’s Rocky Mountain home and beyond.

WishGarden also continues to be one of the few established herbal companies to remain family-owned since 1979. To go along with that, 71% of the company’s leadership positions are held by women, shaping the company’s direction and decisions.

The organization even has a continuous learning culture. This translates to how 100% of the team receives ongoing education via monthly onsite seminars focused on sustainable sourcing and herbal benefits. WishGarden also makes significant efforts to foster community engagement by giving out paid volunteer days to all staff members.

Apart from that, the B Corp Certification offers an insight into the company’s goal of protecting the planet. For instance, an estimated 40% of all WishGarden’s energy is powered by wind and solar.

More on that would reveal how the company has managed to successfully offset 75% of its carbon emissions by calculating carbon footprint and supporting Amazon rainforest conservation projects, while simultaneously working towards carbon neutrality.

WishGarden further reduced its water usage by almost 13% through smarter manufacturing practices, whereas on the other hand, it diverted 73% of waste from landfills so to transform production cycle towards zero waste.

“Staying independent gives us the freedom to lead with our values—and these certifications help make that commitment my mom made almost 50 years ago concrete. It isn’t just about herbal products—it’s about a way of being. It’s about building the structure to keep doing what we believe in, even as we grow. We’re here to make herbalism better, more accessible and more accountable—and this helps us stay the course,” said Anna Harshman, WishGarden VP of Impact & Development and daughter of Founder Catherine Hunziker.

Turning our attention towards WishGarden’s decision to sponsor first North American FairWild certified collector, it allows the company to use FairWild-certified, wild-cultivated Goldenseal, Wild Cherry Bark, and Black Haw Bark, herbs featured in the brand’s top selling products and now traceable to a verified regenerative supply chain.

“North America is rich in medicinal plant diversity, but many native species are at risk,” said Lauren Ann Nichols-Sheffler, WishGarden Senior Sourcing Manager and Certified Herbalist. “FairWild helps protect these plants while ensuring fair pay and ethical treatment for the people who harvest them. Bringing FairWild to North America isn’t just about sustainability—it’s about strengthening local herbal economies.”
