A Bid to Make Your Packaging Reflect Sustainability Needs of the Hour

CREO Group, a leader in innovative and sustainable packaging solutions, has officially announced the launch of two new bio-based products in Asili and AgaveGrow. Beyond that, the company has also confirmed rebranding of its revolutionary 3D systems to Forever Forward systems. Although slightly different in their nature, both the announcements are meant to bolster CREO Group’s dedication towards eco-friendly practices and forward-thinking innovations. Talk about the new bio-based products on a slightly deeper level, we begin from Asili, which brings an exciting innovation in sustainable greenhouse containers. According to certain reports, Asili packs together more than 70% bio-based material at launch, and guess what, it achieves that without making any compromises in the context of performance, strength, or flexibility. More on the same would reveal how it is a fully colorable and printable thermoformed container capable of resisting mold, discoloration, as well as wider deterioration over time. Made from industrially compostable material, Asili is already slated to have future versions where it will specifically accommodate those customers who desire a home compostable option. Next up, we must get into AgaveGrow, a bio-based innovation for injection molded nursery containers. Going by the available details, AgaveGrow is basically engineered from a blend of bio-based resin and recycled resins. It is a byproduct of the tequila-making process and is used to displace a portion of a container’s plastics with a bio-based alternative. Such potential, on its part, is expected to cut back on fossil-fuel-based plastics and CO2 emissions. Furthermore, these containers are made to be strong, automation-ready, and at the same time, they are also given the means to seamlessly integrate with existing commercial nursery processes. In essence, AgaveGrow is 100% recyclable, offering an affordable and eco-friendly alternative which tends to perform just like any traditional plastic container.

“Our commitment to sustainability is at the core of everything we do,” said Amy Drew, Chief Sustainability Officer for CREO Group. “We know the road to sustainability in horticulture will be one of incremental change, and we are equipped to take on the challenge. With the launch of Asili and AgaveGrow, we are providing our customers with more eco-friendly choices that align with their sustainability objectives. CREO Group is committed to being the strongest and most innovative partner possible for our customers.”

Turning our attention towards the rebranding of CREO’s 3D Systems, we referred to the fact it will now operate under the name Forever Forward, but what we didn’t do was acknowledge all the upgrades that the move will likely bring. You see, from now onwards, customers can ship more, save more, and sell more with it, considering it will pack up to 60% more product in the same space compared to competitive pots and trays. This, like you can guess, should generate significant freight savings. Specifically speaking, Forever Forward will offer a range of sizes from 1 pint to 2.5 quarts. Next up, we must get into how the component’s unique design makes it easier for you to pot and spot. Here, it basically ensures that labels always face out and allows customers to easily spot your brand and product, thus enhancing visibility and boosting sales.

The entire runner, of course, builds upon CREO’s previous efforts to preach sustainability at scale. You see, the company already pursues the said goal by utilizing an average of 55% post-consumer recycled (PCR) and post-industrial recycled (PIR) content across all product lines. Another detail worth a mention would be its pledge to include a minimum of 15% PCR content on average across all CREO products. Complimenting the same is how, even before the two new proponents, the company was offering bio-based options made from natural resources to reduce the reliance on plastic.
