Unveiling the Progress on a Far-reaching ESG Drive

Mary Kay, a global advocate for sustainability and women’s empowerment, has officially published the results from its 2025 Sustainability Report, which happens to be a comprehensive overview of the company’s 2030 commitments, as well as its 2024 milestone achievements in the context of creating positive impact throughout the world.

Talk about the whole report on a slightly deeper level, we begin from its commitment to responsible packaging. This translates to how the company made significant efforts towards reducing plastic intensity, increasing post-consumer recycled content (PCR), and bolstering recycle-ready/recyclable packaging

As a result, the bottle of Mary Kay TimeWise® Targeted-Action® Toning Lotion today contains 94% PCR content.

Next up, we must dig into Mary Kay’s bid to achieve sustainable sourcing at scale. You see, 93% of Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certified Palm Oil has been used by the company’s suppliers as of 2024, whereas 80% of its Shea use was sourced from the Global Shea Alliance (GSA) member suppliers.

Another detail worth a mention relates to how 100% of the water used at the company’s Richard R. Rogers (R3) global R&D and Manufacturing facility in Texas is treated and recycled back into the local watershed.

Moving on; Mary Kay also completed 37 years of its partnership with The Nature Conservancy (TNC). Thus far, this particular partnership has empowered the company to complete more than 100 conservation projects.

Alongside that, it even extended its 16-year partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation (ADF) to preserve ecosystems in Texas and around the world through 34 projects.

Turning our attention towards the social aspect of Mary Kay’s ESG initiatives, the company would markedly go on to impact more than 600K women globally using meaningful programs at the global, regional, and local levels as of 2024.

It even sponsored 37 grants awarded to young women from 16 countries pursuing STEM careers, while simultaneously facilitating 8 grants awarded to female students through the “Madam C.J. Walker Scholarships” with The Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC).

Almost like an extension of that, we must dig into how 63% global workforce at Mary Kay is comprised of female, whereas on the other hand, its 57% of leadership positions are held by women across the company’s top 10 markets. Not just that, an estimated 60% of its Executive team is also female.

Apart from that, Mary Kay also engaged in more than 100 trade associations globally on a range of policy issues, from direct selling and entrepreneurship to personal care and supply chain and logistics.

Thanks to these efforts, the company was named #1 Direct Selling Brand of Skin Care and Color Cosmetics in the World by Euromonitor International for three consecutive years, in 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Furthermore, it was ranked #9 on Forbes’s Best Brands for Social Impact 2025 out of 3,900 brands. In fact, Mary Kay is understood to be the only beauty brand in Top 10 and the only direct selling company on the list.

In case that wasn’t enough, the company also secured for itself a “Leadership in Conservation and Sustainability Award” by Texan By Nature (TxN) in 2023 and again in 2024.

“For over 60 years, our company has championed a business model and key initiatives that empower women, help protect the planet, and model resilient communities,” said Ryan Rogers, Chief Executive Officer of Mary Kay. “This year’s report reaffirms our goals and commitments, while celebrating the measurable and meaningful impact we are creating worldwide.”
